As the renovation process begins, there’s many steps Penn Construction & Design takes before demolition starts. Here is the overall process we do to ensure that your renovation goes to plan and turns out exactly how you want it!
Our team first begins when you reach out! We then send you an initial consultation invite, where the team and the client discuss the scope of the project. Dan, our CEO, goes to your home to see the space, meet with you, and then will provide you with an initial ballpark estimate.
If the client agrees and continues with the renovation process, then the renovation moves into the design and scope phase. Here, the meeting is aptly called the selection meeting, where all design selections are made for the renovation. From there, the initial ballpark proposal is updated with the selections, which leads to the full construction agreement.
Once the agreement is signed and approved, the customer’s job board is created and the client must sign off on it. The job board is the master document with all selections and the plan that stays at the job site. Through this, it means that the client has agreed on everything and that the renovation is almost ready to begin!
After everything is signed and agreed upon, the permit process begins. Our team at Penn Construction & Design handles them entirely, and they depend on which township you reside in. Permits are dependent on the project, but the most common ones are building, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. The permit process takes around 3 weeks or 15 business days.
When the permit process is complete, the pre construction meeting occurs. This meeting will include a thorough overview of the scope of work, a comprehensive review of the job board, & a walk through of the job site. If necessary, Dan will spray paint specific areas that will be demo’ed.
