Ideas to Make Your Thanksgiving Better!

As Thanksgiving approaches, here are some ideas (and recipes) for your family to enjoy!

Do a Turkey Trot! A very common thing for families is Turkey Trots. They often are either a mile or a 5K, and families get to do them together, then eat incredible food! Here are some around Havertown, PA. https://findarace.com/us/running/turkey-trots/pennsylvania/philadelphia

Haverford High School is home to one of the longest running football rivalries in the United States, with the first game dating back to 1921. This annual football game is on Thanksgiving morning every year, with this year’s game starting at 10:00 AM at Upper Darby High School. Haverford leads the series, with 53 wins to Upper Darby’s 51 wins. Here is the address to attend! 601 N Lansdowne Ave, Drexel Hill, PA 19026

Go for a walk! It is the perfect way to digest and enjoy the scenery Pennsylvania has to offer! Haverford College has a lovely trail to walk along, and Havertown has many parks around. Walks also help with digestion, so it’s a great way to digest and spend quality time with family and friends.

Thanksgiving has many iconic dishes, including mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and stuffing. But in 2025, there are many modern recipes that have a new twist on traditional dishes. Mashed potato casserole, green bean almondine, sausage stuffing, apple stuffing, pineapple stuffing, Japanese Milk Bread rolls, Cacio e Pepe rolls, shaved parmesan Brussels sprouts, and roasted hot honey sweet potato salad
