Smart Home Upgrades in 2025

In 2025, smart home upgrades are almost a given in any remodel. Smart homes make life easier for families, and can provide peace of mind while the family is out of the house. Smart home upgrades can also be a selling point for potential buyers, as everyone wants to be up-to-date, and connected to the world at large. There are obvious smart home upgrades that people have an understanding of, but there are also subtle upgrades that can make day-to-day life more simple, which is the goal of anyone with a busy life.

Smart Home Appliances

Firstly, there are the well-known smart devices and systems to control everything. Samsung has been a leader in this area, with other brands also making smart appliances. Samsung has the SmartThings app, which can connect washer and dryers, ovens, fridges, microwaves, smart devices, and light bulbs. The SmartThings app can include both Samsung and other devices. It can make home automation painless.

Smart ovens are an excellent idea to upgrade any home. Whirlpool also has a smart oven and app, which can make cooking much easier. Smart ovens have the ability to remotely set the oven temperature, monitor cooking progress, and automatically update both the app and the oven. Additionally, it can notify family members when food is finished cooking in the oven, or turn on “warming mode”, which sets the oven to just continuously keep the food warm, which reduces overcooking dramatically.

AI in Homes

As AI (artificial intelligence) becomes bigger, AI can be integrated into homes, which has already started. AI can be used in smart thermostats, laundry machines, security systems, or smart lighting. AI can learn the patterns of a family in their home, from the first person starting their day, or the last person going to bed. AI can recognize lighting preferences throughout the day, and automatically adjust all the smart lighting. The same concepts could be applied to smart thermostats. AI can be used in laundry machines, as the new machines include sensors or cameras, and AI can pick more energy-efficient cycles, thus lowering energy consumption over time, which will save money on energy bills. AI in security camera systems can be beneficial to reduce human-caused errors, and can interpret anomalies in the normal patterns that the security camera registers everyday. This can lead to more peace of mind, which makes life much easier for Delaware County homeowners.

AI in homes can also lead to peace of mind for families with older members. It is common in 2025 for families to have cameras that record inside their homes, but they aren’t often checked, as people are busy with their daily lives. However, AI can be used to keep a closer eye, in case of emergencies that may arise. AI could then notify emergency responders and other family members.

Smart home upgrades are only going to continue to advance as time passes, and soon, they will become second-nature for families and home owners alike. Delaware County homeowners can benefit from integrating smart appliances and AI into their homes. Interested in implementing smart home items into your home? Feel free to contact us at (484) 452-5071.
